Reality of Iman

Word “Iman” (ايمان) is literally translated as Faith or belief, means “to know”, “to believe” and “to be convinced beyond the least shadow of doubt”. Faith, thus, is firm belief arising out of knowledge and conviction. And the man who knows and reposes unshakable belief in the unity of God, in His Attributes, in His Law and the Revealed Guidance, and in the Divine code of Reward and punishment is called Mo’min –  مومن(faithful)

Hakimiyah of Allah

Allah (swt) is the Hakim الحاكم . He is the supreme Legislator. All commands, judgement or legislation belongs to Allah (swt).  Allah (swt) claims the Legislative right for Himself in absolute terms:

 

إِنِ الْحُكْمُ إِلاَّ لِلّهِ أَمَرَ أَلاَّ تَعْبُدُواْ إِلاَّ إِيَّاهُ ذَلِكَ الدِّينُ الْقَيِّمُ وَلَـكِنَّ أَكْثَرَ النَّاسِ لاَ يَعْلَمُونَ

- 12:40 “Legislation is not but for Allah. He has commanded that you worship not except Him. That is the correct religion, but most of the people do not know.

Reasons for unhealthy relationship between West and Islam

Perception in the West is that “Islam” is against the “Western” world, and these views have been further intensified after the incidents following September 11. In the Muslim world, there is deep frustration over the “West’ and west is perceived as enemy of Islam based on long historical experiences of crusades, invasions, colonialism, support for Orientalism, fall of Caliphate in Turkey, Palestinian occupation, Gulf wars, invasion of Iraq and Afghanistan etc. Both of these points of views have to be debated ..

Title of Islam

When somebody submits to Allah (swt) and admits to His Deen, he or she proclaims their submission by announcing: محمدٍ رسول الله لا إله إلا الله  - There is no Illah but Allah, Muhammad is Messenger of Allah

This is the Title of Islam, proclamation to Tawheed and the entrance to citizenship to Deen Allah. This is often referred to as testimony of faith “كلمه طيبه”.

Knowledge of Deen

Islam is is first “علم” knowledge then “ايمان” faith in it. The real difference between believer and non believer is “Elm”   علم– knowledge.  Thus, Allah (swt) said: (قُلْ هَلْ يَسْتَوِي الَّذِينَ يَعْلَمُونَ وَالَّذِينَ لَا يَعْلَمُونَ ) - 39:9 …  Say, "Are those who know equal to those who do not know?" ...

توحيدالآسمأوالصفات : Allah (swt) described Himself with beautiful Names and Attributes. These attributes are unique to Him. And no one is similar to Him in anyways. He (swt) is not like anything that the mind can imagine. Allah (swt) said: لَيْسَ كَمِثْلِهِ شَيْءٌ “There is nothing like Him”. This is usually referred to as توحيدالآسمأوالصفات (Tawheed-u-Asma-wa-Sifaat)

Purpose of Creation

The word “Ibadah ” (usually translated as worship) means “total obedience and submission to Allah’s commands”. Thus, everything we do is for the sake of Allah and to earn His pleasure by fulfilling His commands. Allah (swt) said, قُلْ إِنَّ صَلاَتِي وَنُسُكِي وَمَحْيَايَ وَمَمَاتِي لِلّهِ رَبِّ الْعَالَمِينَ  - 6:162 Say, "Indeed, my prayer, my rites of sacrifice, my living and my dying are for Allah, Lord of the worlds”.

Universal Message of Islam

Bid'aa in Islam, Doubts & Explanations

We have to understand that not every text from Imam(s) is a Daleel by itself. Moreover, some times, a text is taken out of context, or used in its Linguistic capacity while it should be used in its Shariat Capacity, or visa versa. Such use constitutes what is called “Shubhat Daleel”, i.e. “simulated Daleel”. This is the trick that those who use such text use.

Mu'awiyah ibn Abi Sufyan

He was the companion of the Prophet (PBUH) and also his brother in law, as the Prophet (PBUH) married to his sister, Umm Habeebah bint Abi Sufyaan (RA). He was the scribe of the Prophet (PBUH) and recorded the verses of Qur’an. He was the First Khalifa of Umayyad Dynasty. He followed Ali ibn Talib (RA) as the Khalifa. He reverted to Islam after the conquest of Makkah, and stayed with the Prophet (PBUH) until he died.
